Health and Wellness

Seniors Health and Wellness 1
Seniors Health and Wellness 1

Health and wellness is a theme that reaches across our entire Seniors Department, which engages community members, keeping their minds and bodies active and healthy.

A weekly Yoga class helps improve health, relaxation and concentration, as does the senior’s weekly fitness class, which is designed to improve flexibility, joint mobility and cardiovascular endurance.

To keep the mind active and healthy we run a variety of educational classes: once a week there is a sewing class, there is the weekly choir practice, craft drop in, knitting, as well as ESL and Literacy for Spanish speaking seniors.

Dixon Hall’s Health and Wellness Program for Seniors is funded by the Province of Ontario Ministry of Health and Long Term Care, and in part by the City of Toronto and the United Way of Greater Toronto.
