Heyworth House and Schoolhouse Shelters – provide overnight accommodation and services 365 days a year. Both shelters are staffed by front line workers, two housing workers at each site, a harm reduction worker as well as additional services provided by partner agencies offering, for example, both health and mental health support. Residents of both shelters work with the housing support workers and the harm reduction worker, where appropriate, to develop case plans intended to move individuals to more stable living arrangements. This might be independent living, supportive housing or another form of housing that best suits their particular needs.
Heyworth House is a 70-bed emergency shelter for men, women and couples located in the Main and Danforth neighbourhood.
School House is a 55-bed emergency shelter, for men only, located in downtown east Toronto on George Street.
Meet Roger Breen

I just came to the shelter because I lost my house and my truck due to drinking, drugs and partying, etc. I abused the system at first and I woke up after a couple of years. I now have my apartment fully decked out, and my old good friends are back in my life which is getting better by the day.
Thank you to all those people at Heyworth House. Shannon, Ray, Laura, Louise, Jill, Jermyn, Mike, etc. Love yas!
