Food and Nutrition

Dixon Hall recognizes that food security is an essential component in the transition from homelessness to housing. Each of our shelters provides access to healthy meals. In addition, the staff in our Housing Support Program organize community meals designed to ensure that their clients are meeting their nutritional needs. A community meal is an opportunity to come together and break down the isolation that so many experience. A meal becomes an opportunity for staff to engage with people and identify challenges and emerging trends, allowing us to be proactive in our response.
