The holidays are a wonderful time of the year but for many families living on low incomes it can also be a very difficult time. Luckily at this time of year many individuals and businesses feel extra generous and want to help indivials who are experiencing hard times.

Donation are always welcome at Dixon Hall in the form of money or items. To donate money to Dixon Hall please click on the donate now button at the top of our main page or e-mail Kara Olsen at kara.olsen@dixonhall.org

If you would like to donate items to a child or adult who could use some extra help this year here is a list of items that are always needed.

• Toys for children ages 0-12 years
• Gift cards for youth ages 13-18
• Grocery Store Gift Cards
• Hats, Mitts and Scarves for Men, Women and Children
• Mens, Womens and Children’s Winter Coats
• Toiletries
• Non Perishable Food Items
• Single Bed Mattresses

Please make sure these donation are new or in very good condition. We cannot accept items that are dirty or ripped for health and safety reasons.

Donations can be dropped off at 58 Sumach Street, Toronto. Please note Holiday Wish List on the box/bag.

Music For Life 2011: A Success

On Wednesday, November 30th 2011, Slaight Communications Inc. and RBC Presented Music for Life 2011.

Music for life is an annual benefit dinner and concert that raises vital funds for the Dixon Hall Music School. It is a great night of music by music school students and graduates as well as a headline performer.

This year’s headline performer was Jim Cuddy. Jim Cuddy is a singer-songwriter primarly associated with the highly acclaimed band Blue Rodeo. He, along with his two band mates had the guests on their feet while performing some of his biggest hits.

300 + guests were also treated to great performances by Mark Masri and students of the Dixon Hall Music School. It was a magical evening where everyone came together to raise money for the children of the Dixon Hall Music School.
